Q. Can I bring my dog to the market with me?
A. Yes, your dog is welcome at the Westgate Farmers Market provided it is on a short leash at all times, you diligently clean up after it and it is kept a safe distance from all food items. Please be respectful and aware of others and their comfort zones.
Q. Where can I park to attend the Westgate Farmers Market?
A. A limited number of parking spots are available on our host site, the West Gate Masonic Lodge. Please be sure to follow the directional signs as the drive around the Lodge is one way. Additional parking is available directly across the street from the Market at Hoge Memorial Presbyterian Church, 2930 W. Broad Street. There is also street parking available along Broad Street and most side streets.
Q. Can I take COTA to get to the Westgate Farmers Market?
A. Yes, the Westgate Farmers Market is right on the #10 COTA line. The West Broad St. & Haldy Ave. stop is a short walk from the Westgate Farmers Market.
Q. Can I smoke while attending the Westgate Farmers Market?
A. The Westgate Farmers Market is a smoke-free environment.
Q. Can my organization hand out fliers or canvass for petition signatures at the Market?
A. The Westgate Farmers Market is a non-partisan event. We may permit the distribution of information and/or collection of signatures for topics and issues of general benefit to the community. We restrict this activity to a passive approach, meaning you may be permitted to be present, but you may not actively approach our guests. Also, we require that you contact us in advance with your request for this type of activity. You will not be granted permission on the day of the Market.
Q. What forms of payment do Westgate Farmers Market vendors accept?
A. All market vendors accept credit cards. Some vendors will accept cash. To reduce the risk of community spread, credit card is the preferred method of payment.
Q. Do you accept EBT cards and SNAP?
A. Yes. If you would like to use your EBT (Ohio Direction Card), please see the Market Information Tent. We will swipe your card in exchange for tokens, which can be spent at our vendor tents. We also participate in the Produce Perks program, which provides SNAP participants with a dollar-for-dollar cash match, up to $25, to be spent on fruits and vegetables. Q. Is the Westgate Farmers Market open if it rains?
A. We are here rain or shine! However, if the weather poses a risk to our customers or vendors, the Westgate Farmers Market will close. If there is inclement weather, please check our social media for timely updates.
Q. How do I find out what food truck(s) or programs will be at each Market?
A. Follow us on Facebook and Instragram @WestgateFarmersMarket for up-to-date information on what food truck(s) and programs we are featuring at each market. You may also use Street Food Finder to see what food truck(s) are at the Westgate Farmers Market.
Q. Are all of your vendors local?
A. Yes! All of the Westgate Farmers Market’s vendors are based in Ohio.
Q. What does it mean that your vendors are all “producer-only?”
A. It means that everything sold by the vendor is produced by the vendor.
Q. Are all of your farmers organic?
A. Some, but not all, of our farmers operate certified organic farms. Have a question about how something is made or farming practices? Ask the vendor! They would love to talk to you about their products.
Q. Is the Westgate Farmers Market only for residents of Westgate?
A. Nope! The Westgate Farmers Market welcomes all customers to the Market.
